Yogita Godbole’s journey

“A song has unlimited potential, just like the human spirit,” believes Yogita Godbole. “One song can change your life, one life can change the world.”

A core belief that has motivated the gifted singer to go out there, day after day, and make the best music she can for over 21 years now.

Yogita’s musical journey commenced only in high school when a discerning school teacher figured out in the course of a concert that the happy go lucky teenager had a voice that deserved to be taken seriously. That’s how she commenced with her training, working her way up to the Sangeet Visharadh under the guidance of her gurus Shree Vijay Koparkar and Suresh Wadkar.

Despite the relatively late start, she was soon declared proficient enough to sing professionally by age 17.Since then, her voice has delighted music aficionados across the state and the country, even as her repertoire has gone from strength to strength. From playback singing to live concerts, anchoring shows and YouTube recordings, her journey so far, has covered vast and varied ground. In the face of multiple opportunities and challenges, her focus on bettering her own best has singled her out.

C The latest notes.

Her latest work, the musical single Sawanritu with Anjali Marathe, Nachiket Jog and Amol Kulkarni on Magic Note’s Youtube channel is garnering rave reviews online. “Singles are more than the flavor of the season; they are a trend that will last for some time. This is because they make more financial sense than an album, and simultaneously allow the creators to put in their best effort into creating one outstanding track,” she says.
“We are living in exciting times. Technology and media have made it possible for one’s voice to reach out at a scale that wasn’t possible before. At the same time, we must also remember that we are living in times of sensory overload. When a listener gives you an ear, make sure you respect it,” she says.
